Terms and Conditions

1) Driver’s Qualification

All the drivers must be at least 18 years old and must have an experience of driving a car for at least 1 year. The driver must have valid driving license and passport. International driving license is required only in case the national driving licenses are not valid in Republic of Armenia or not given in Latin letters.

Driver’s license issued in countries that have signed the Vienna Convention are valid In the Republic of Armenia and the list of the countries you can find here.

2) Authorized operator of the vehicle

According to the Rental Agreement, only the Renter is authorized to drive Carwiz vehicle. Any other person can be registered as an additional driver. Additional drivers must present valid driving license, passport. Additional fee will be charged for this service.

The Customer accepts that he/she will not permit anyone to drive the Vehicle:
1. who is not authorized by Carwiz staff and is not registered in the Rental Agreement
2. who does not meet the minimum requirements of Carwiz or official state law regarding driver’s age, validity of driving license and/or any other minimum requirements;
3. who is influenced by alcohol, narcotic or any other stuff affective consciousness or ability to react, or who is exhausted.

3) Driving Restrictions

Driving outside of Armenia is allowed only upon the prior written permission by authorized Carwiz staff only. Such special permission must be added in Rental Agreement. Cars can be driven in the territory of Armenia without prior permission. Such permission is necessary for driving to Georgia.

Extra fee in amount 90.00 EUR applies for providing driving permission to Republic of Georgia. This is one time fee irrespective of the rental length. Such permission can be obtained on working days only, within 4-5 hours.

4) Use of the Vehicle

The Renter must operate the vehicle with the compliance of its registration certificate and technical specifications.

The Vehicle must be parked on the special areas appointed for parking. The Renter is fully responsible for the vehicle documents provided by Carwiz staff.

The Vehicle may not be used:
a) in violation of traffic and other regulations;
b) for illegal actions;
c) for re-renting
d) for driving on terrain or roads that are not suitable for the Vehicle;
e) on rallies, test drives or racing events;
f) for carrying animals. Transportation of animals is permitted only on prior agreement with Carwiz in specially designed cage

5) Terms of Payment

By signing the Rental Agreement, the Renter gives his/her authorization to Carwiz to charge all costs occurring from completing of the Rental Agreement to his/her credit or charge card or any other method of payment accepted by the Lessor. Carwiz has the right to pre-authorize the rental amount, deposit amount. The deposit will be automatically unblocked within 21 working days, starting from the date of freezing. The Renter is responsible for covering the entire cost of the Rental Agreement even if he/she has listed a third party has the payer. Carwiz Armenia accepts all the main types of credit cards: AMEX, VISA, Eurocard/Mastercard, Diner’s Club, as well as cash payments. The payments have to be made in AMD with the official rates set by the Central Bank of Armenia. The exchange rate may be different from the rate that was set by the bank tenant.

6) Insurance Packages

There are three types of insurance provided by Carwiz Armenia: Basic, Medium and Full.

1. The BASIC coverage is included in the rental price. The basic package includes CDW/TP coverage, which limits your financial responsibility in the case of vehicle damage caused by a traffic accident, theft, or attempted theft to the amount of the damage excess. The height of the damage excess depends on the vehicle type and category.
2. The MEDIUM coverage package includes CDW/TP, CDW+ and PAI coverage. By accepting this package, your financial responsibility in the case of vehicle damage caused by a traffic accident, theft, or attempted theft is further limited to a reduced damage excess. The reduced damage excess differentiates according to vehicle category and type. The medium coverage package also includes personal coverage for the driver and the passengers.
3. The full coverage package includes CDW/TP, CDW+, PAI, and SCDW coverage. This FULL coverage package completely releases you of any possible financial responsibility in the case of damage to the vehicle, windows, mirrors, and lights caused by traffic accidents, theft, or attempted theft.

*With every chosen coverage package, the client/lessee is obliged to follow the rental contract's general terms and conditions as well as traffic laws and regulations. In the case of non-compliance with the provisions of the rental contract or violations of the laws of the Republic of Armenia, the lessee can be charged for the full amount of damages and costs.

All the types of insurances are considered valid if:
• The name of the driver is set in the Carwiz Rental Agreement,
• The driver at the time of the accident is not under the influence of alcohol and drugs or etc.,
• Within 30 minutes after the accident or damage, the Renter must inform Carwiz staff, the Insurance Company, and the Road Police. The vehicle must not be moved from the place of the accident until the authorities arrive.
• There is an act of the police.

7) Responsibility for property

Carwiz takes no responsibility for the property and objects of the Renter that has been left in the vehicle during its use.

8) One-Way Rentals

One Way rentals are allowed between Armenia and Georgia locations.

9) Damages, Accidents, Theft and Vandalism

The Renter must inform about traffic accident, scratch, crash, theft of the Vehicle or its stolen parts and/or any other incident the Vehicle is involved without moving the vehicle from the place of the accident.

If the Vehicle is stolen, the Renter must return the Vehicle keys, documents and remote control of the Vehicle’s anti-theft system over to Carwiz.

The Renter is obliged to cooperate with Carwiz and its insurance providers on the investigation of the traffic accident, theft and/or act of vandalism. If there are some obstacles as weather conditions, darkness, time and/or location of the Vehicle return, vehicle uncleanness and thus makes impossible for Carwiz employees to define the loss of Vehicle parts and/or damages, then Carwiz has the right to charge for loss or damage also after their discovery.

10) Parking and Traffic Fines

In case any traffic or parking ticket arrives for the rental period, a copy of a ticket will be sent via e-mail and the amount will be charged from the Credit card of the Renter. He/she also must pay the interests, legal and 25 % administrative fees related to them.
